Depression and Anxiety
How to deal with depression and anxiety? Quickly.
Whatever initiates them, they are maintained by personal thought
processes that tend to increase the length of time they exist and the
intensity. This can also make it easier for the next episode to occur.
- 60 to 70 percent of people with depression also have an anxiety , while
50% of those with
anxiety also show signs of clinical depression.
- It's and overactive stress response system. You are not thinking
clearly basically. Overreacting or shutting down. Overestimating the
risk in a situation and underestimating their ability to cope with it.
- Lack of social skills can contribute.
- OCD can be associated with depression
- Anxiety can precede depression.
- Mental skills need to be taught, especially to young people.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) addresses the response pattern.
It can also help to create new brain circuits, and repair dysfunctional
ones. It teasches people to keep an eye open for issues that might
trigger an emotional reaction. CBT can take 3-4 months and improvement
can be seen in 6 weeks. Drug therapy can take years.
- Exercise is very important. Neurohormones can be modified to adjust
hyperactivity and emotions. Stress toleration can improve. This self
improvement can also boost confidence and improve positive thinking.
- Breaking through the depression barrier to initiate exercise can be
tough. However, once that first exercise or breakthrough occurs, the
future exercise periods will be easier. Endorphins will encourage more
workouts in the near future.
